The sound of clattering chains

Posted on Updated on

To take away someone’s freedom is like starting a game you want them to loose. To be chained by words, control and power by people convinced of their own perfectness, is draining. When other say they know best and you know nothing, you want to throw things. You want to shatter their words, their power, their smug smiles. When it doesn’t work, and you have used all your energy to no avail, you just do whatever they say. It doesn’t work to fight against them. They are stronger. You are nothing.

We can all be there, in the feeling of hopelessness and helplessness. Where nothing matters, where everything feels dark.

When they stroke your hair, saying: Don’t you see, how calm you got ? Wasn’t I right? They smile satisfied, since you’re no longer this obnoxious kid who makes a fuss. You nod with no energy left. You don’t listen anymore. You shut off everything.

I won’t shut up. Just try me

Unfortunately too many can relate to it. Luckily, chains can be taken off!
